Greenville, Ohio - The Sterling House of Greenville functioned over the past eleven years as a 30 unit assisted living facility that included a 12 unit Clare Bridge wing that specialized in memory care. Through consultation, planning, development and design with PDC, Brookdale Senior Living decided build a separate 24 unit Clare Bridge memory care facility on the Sterling House site to meet the demographic need for memory care. PDC was contracted to plan, develop, design and construct a full renovation of the existing Sterling House to insure it exceeds future market demands.
PDC developed a plan that would convert the existing Clare Bridge memory care wing of the Sterling House into new assisted living units. The renovation will expand the Sterling House from 26,770 to 28,565 square feet, enlarge the living units and additionally increase the number of units from 30 to 42. Included in the rehabilitation will also be an addition to the existing Sterling House that will increase the food service capabilities and provide the expansion of the dining room and kitchen. The new kitchen will be updated to a full commercial kitchen featuring a walk in cooler, freezer and new stainless steel food preparation space to accommodate both the Sterling House and Clare Bridge residents. Other renovations will include a new physical therapy room, a café, additional staff support spaces and socialization amenities for the residents.
The Sterling House renovation is currently in the construction phase and is slated for completion in February 2009.
