Greenville, Ohio - PDC planned, developed, designed and constructed a new Clare Bridge memory care facility for Brookdale Senior Living. The new 16,725 square feet Clare Bridge facility was constructed on the Sterling House of Greenville site which has resided in Greenville, Ohio for the past eleven years as an assisted living residence. Currently, the Sterling House of Greenville is undergoing full restoration where PDC has also been utilized for the planning, architecture, interior design and construction for the project which is slated for completion in February 2009.
The Clare Bridge project started in March of 2008, and was developed to meet an otherwise unmet need for a memory care program. PDC worked with Brookdale Senior Living to develop the Sterling House of Greenville site which was planned to allow a future addition as needed. PDC's architects designed the Clare Bridge to be complimentary to the existing Sterling House of Greenville in scale, plan, building materials and window fenestration. This new facility has 24 new units, 22 single units and 2 companion units. All of the units in the Clare Bridge feature a private full size accessible shower.
The floor plan designed for the Clare Bridge is organized in a circulation path as part of their memory care program that includes memory care and life skill stations. These stations encompass part of the treatment program that slows the advancement of Alzheimer's and Dementia illnesses. The Clare Bridge also features a specially designed country kitchen with an 18' granite counter where residents participate in activities which invoke memories through the practice and smells of cooking and baking. Also complimenting their memory care dining program is a large dining room lighted naturally by skylights where entrees are served in restaurant style educate. Other features designed for the Clare Bridge include a courtyard, sitting room with fireplace, TV room/den, activity area, family conference room, a wellness center, a spa/whirlpool room and a beauty salon.
Interior finishes and materials were selected and planned by PDC's Senior Interior Designer and were chosen to reflect warm, natural and soothing elements. The style was inspired to replicate a relaxing home environment experience. The Clare Bridge residents will find comfort in the light, warm colors chosen for their interiors.
